Scholarships<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Law Ting Pong Secondary School (LTPSS) offers scholarships to give due recognition to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding performance in other non-academic areas. There are various types of scholarships available at LTPSS.<\/p>\n

Type 1: Admission Scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 Admission Scholarship for Academic Excellency<\/td>\n1st<\/sup> Tier:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 achieved a Top 5% year-level ranking in Primary 6;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained overall A or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained A or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 100% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS.<\/p>\n

2nd<\/sup> Tier:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 achieved a Top 6-10% year-level ranking in Primary 6;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained overall A or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained B+ or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 50% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0 Admission Scholarship for Multi-intelligence Excellency<\/td>\n\u00b7 won remarkable awards in regional or international competitions;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 provided proof of being a key member for any group award;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 provided proof of a relevant qualification assessment;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained B or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained B+ or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 50% or 100% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS based on the level of achievement:<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Regional Competitions (within Hong Kong):<\/p>\n

50% school fees; or<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 International Competitions: 100% school fees<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0 Admission Scholarship for Exchange Students<\/td>\nA maximum of two international exchange students may be offered this scholarship each year.<\/td>\nEach exchange student will receive a scholarship that covers 100% school fees for non-local students.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Type 2: Scholarships for Excellent Performance in Academic Areas<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 Mrs Ma Fung Wai Yung Scholarship<\/td>\nThe best-performing two students taking HKDSE, who have been admitted to a bachelor\u2019s degree programme at a local university, may qualify for this scholarship.<\/p>\n

The Mrs Ma Fung Wai Yung Scholarship of HK$10,000 will be awarded to each of the two eligible students.<\/p>\n

In the case of multiple students obtaining the same results, the total award will be shared equally.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0 Scholarship for Commendable Performance in HKDSE<\/td>\nStudents taking HKDSE, who have attained Level 5* – Level 5** in any subject, may qualify for this scholarship.<\/td>\nThe scholarship will be awarded to students based on their performance in the HKDSE:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Level 5**: HK$2,000 per subject<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Level 5*: \u00a0HK$1,000 per subject<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0 Scholarship for Excellent Performance in IGCSE\/ GCE\/ GCE AS LEVEL\/ DELE (Diplomas de Espa\u00f1ol como Lengua Extranjera)\/ IELTS<\/td>\nStudents taking HKDSE, who have achieved high level in a public examination, may qualify for this scholarship:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Grade 9\/ A* in IGCSE Chinese (NCS);<\/p>\n

\u00b7 A* in GCE Chinese (NCS);<\/p>\n

\u00b7 A in GCE AS Level Chinese (NCS);<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Level 8 or above in IELTS; or<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Grade C1 or above in DELE.<\/p>\n

Students must have applied for the public examination through the school.<\/td>\n

A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0 Scholarship for Entrance to Designated Non-local Universities<\/p>\n

Students who are admitted to any of the designated non-local universities for a full-time bachelor\u2019s degree programme may qualify for this scholarship.<\/p>\n

The list of designated non-local universities is compiled and renewed every year in accordance with the Times Higher Education World University Rankings published in mid-September every year.<\/p>\n

Students have to submit supporting documents (e.g. an admission letter, public examination results, etc.) with the application form, followed in subsequent years by an academic transcript, a reflection and a sharing of their learning.<\/td>\n

The scholarship will be awarded to each eligible student who is admitted to the following non-local universities:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Non-local universities ranked 1-20: HK$100,000<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Non-local universities ranked 21-40: HK$50,000<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Non-local universities ranked 41-60: HK$30,000<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Non-local universities ranked 61-100: HK$15,000<\/p>\n

The scholarship will be disbursed into 4 installments over 4 years.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0 Scholarship for Excellent Overall Academic Performance in Internal Examinations<\/td>\nThe top five students in S1 to S3 with commendable overall academic results may qualify for this scholarship.<\/td>\nEach student will be awarded a scholarship that covers the school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 First in Form: 50% school fees<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Second in Form: 30% school fees<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Third in Form: 10% school fees<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Fourth in Form: HK$1,000 of school fees<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Fifth in Form: HK$500 of school fees<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0 Best Improvement Award in Overall Academic Performance<\/td>\nOne student from each Year Level of S1 to S3:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 achieved the greatest improvement in their average mark between Term 1 and Term 2; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 obtained a passing average mark in Term 2.<\/td>\n

A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.<\/p>\n

Type 3: Scholarships for Excellent Performance in Non-Academic Areas<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0 Scholarship for Commendable Achievements in Music\/ Sports\/ Performing Arts\/ Visual Arts<\/td>\nOne student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 attained outstanding performance in well-recognized external competitions within the last two school years (Qualification examinations such as ABRSM will not be considered);<\/p>\n

\u00b7 provided evidence of these achievements, such as certificates issued by the organization, or photos of trophy that clearly shows the student\u2019s name, title and year of the events;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 obtained Grade B or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2.\u00a0\u00a0 Best School Service Award<\/td>\nOne student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 provided evidence of services such as certificates issued by the organization, or the school report card showing credits awarded by the school;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 obtained Grade B or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3.\u00a0\u00a0 Best Leadership Award<\/td>\nOne student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 demonstrated outstanding leadership in student bodies by holding a major role (e.g. Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Captain, Vice-captain, etc.);<\/p>\n

\u00b7 provided evidence such as the report card or photos of events led by the student;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS;<\/p>\n

\u00b7 submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and<\/p>\n

\u00b7 obtained Grade B or above in Conduct.<\/td>\n

A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.<\/p>\n

Remarks:<\/em><\/p>\n

  1. Application forms for the <\/em>scholarship can be obtained from the school\u2019s<\/em> General Office or downloaded from the school website.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Completed application forms should be submitted to the General Office.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Applications with insufficient supporting <\/em>documentation<\/em> will NOT be processed<\/em>.<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. The granting of the scholarships is subject to the final decision of the school. <\/em><\/li>\n
  5. If the student is a beneficiary of School Fee Remission Scheme, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the student at the end of the academic year in cash.<\/em><\/li>\n
  6. Students being awarded must continue their studies at LTPSS in the following academic year. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
