Hope you are all well!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">I can\u2019t express myself in words how pleased I have been with the online learning program this week! Last week when the extension of the holiday was announced, I was really worried whether the teachers could have time to design online learning programs which could provide motivating and engaging lessons for our students. I also worried whether our students would log in to all the classrooms on time and be attentive!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Well, the last four days of programs told me that I should not have any worries at all! Our teachers have tried their very best to exhaust all learning software. They stretched their comfort zone with one aim in mind; which is to provide the best learning opportunity for our students. More than 50 Google classrooms were set up or \u2018refurbished\u2019. Live lessons using Instagram live, YouTube live, Hangouts Meet and Zoom were on from Tuesday onwards. Our students\u2019 participation rate in the online classrooms has been surprisingly high and some of them, I must say, did even more work than they used to do in normal days! All in all, the trial run of the online program has been launched with big success!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Of course, there are lots of room for improvement and teachers are having online evaluation meetings every evening to make the lessons of the next day better ones. And that\u2019s from their evaluation that we decided to make a slight change to the time table of the junior forms. Instead of 60 minutes for each lesson, we would make it 45 minutes, leaving the 15 minutes for teachers to do private chats with some of the students having concern either academically or behaviourally. Starting time for each lesson remains the same. Please see the circular we sent on Friday for the revised schedule each day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">I urge parents to monitor the students tightly so that they would attend the lessons and would not waste time in video games. Physical exercises during lesson breaks are encouraged and that\u2019s exactly why we have a Wellbeing session conducted by Ms Koo on value building and body relaxation. Links of physical exercises would be introduced so that students could save and do that each day. Announcements would be also made during that session so participation is crucial.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We look forward to another week\u2019s online learning and we welcome your feedback and appreciation to any teacher(s) who have done a great job.
