{"id":18606,"date":"2022-02-11T11:05:42","date_gmt":"2022-02-11T03:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ltpss.edu.hk\/schoolweb\/?p=18606"},"modified":"2022-02-17T14:56:08","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T06:56:08","slug":"staff-development-teachers-learning-in-2021-22-term-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ltpss.edu.hk\/schoolweb\/staff-development-teachers-learning-in-2021-22-term-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Development: Teachers Learning in 2021-22 Term One"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]LTPSS teachers have not only been busy grappling with a constantly changing teaching environment as we navigate school life during the pandemic, but have also been engaged in various professional development activities from September 2021 to January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Newly-joined teachers were oriented to the school through a variety of induction and curriculum sessions including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heart-to-heart Discussion with Principal Kwok<\/li>\n<li>Check-in and Briefing with New Teachers<\/li>\n<li>Using Effective Questioning Techniques in Classrooms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Whole staff sessions have included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction to the Professional Ladder for Teachers and T-standard<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and Observing Professional Code<\/li>\n<li>Joint-school National Education Workshop run by the Education Bureau<\/li>\n<li>Giving Feedback that Enhances Academic Achievements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our department heads and other middle managers have had opportunities to develop their leadership and curriculum development skills through sessions including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homework Accommodation in Catering for Learner Diversity<\/li>\n<li>Supporting Learning for Students with Executive Functioning Difficulties<\/li>\n<li>Effective Feedback on Lesson Observations<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Planning and Implementation of the Multi-disciplinary STEM project on global climate change and global warming<\/li>\n<li>Inter-school Staff Development Sessions with Tin Ka Ping Secondary School (English, Maths, Liberal Studies &amp; CSD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Future sessions are being planned for the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> term including values education and supporting students with learning difficulties.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;18614,18613,18612,18611,18610,18609,18620,18619,18618,18617,18616,18615,18626,18625,18624,18623,18638&#8243; onclick=&#8221;img_link_large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]LTPSS teachers have not only been busy grappling with a constantly changing teaching environment as we navigate school life during the pandemic, but have also been engaged in various professional development activities from September 2021 to January 2022.
