The theme this year is “Mental Health x Make Your Own App”. I must say the programme truly enriched our understanding in Psychology, especially Mental Health. Apart from subject knowledge, we benefited a lot from the application of concepts learned through practices, designing mobile app for patients with mental disorder and promoting the message of mental health to the public.

Unlike most educational programmes, FLIP does not only help student participants to explore ideas of the chosen topic, it guides us to come up with actual solutions and allow actual practices. This is truly inspiring.

As a secondary school student, I am grateful that we can make contribution to society in an innovative way. Putting words and things learned into action is challenging but not impossible. The programme also raised my awareness towards the necessity to take action and my proactive move in serving our community. Let’s start and make changes today!

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2010″][vc_column_text]

Oscar Au Yeung Yat Ho (5A)

Last summer, I joined a very inspiring and educational leadership programme called FLIP. During the programme, I participated in various activities such as lectures on mental health and visits visit to Kwai Chung Hospital, which specializes in curing mental illness.

We also learned how to create our own mobile app at City University. Our final product was creating an important app that raise public’s awareness towards the need and care for mental health patients. In order to help them better fit in society while recovering or after recovery, the public should show higher acceptance, not label them as ‘crazy’, or deprive their rights.

I experienced and learned a lot from joining the FLIP programme. I really hope that our schoolmates can also benefit from the programme in the future. I am certain that they will not only find it enjoyable, but also reflect upon and benefit from it like how we did.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2020″ img_size=”thumbnail” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”2012″][vc_column_text] This is the third year for our school nominating students joining the Future Leaders Initiative Programme (FLIP), organized by group of professionals and university students.
