{"id":8676,"date":"2016-05-03T00:00:17","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T00:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ltpss.edu.hk\/schoolweb\/?p=8676"},"modified":"2018-08-02T10:10:12","modified_gmt":"2018-08-02T10:10:12","slug":"feedback-from-parents-day-on-16th-april-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ltpss.edu.hk\/schoolweb\/feedback-from-parents-day-on-16th-april-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Feedback from Parents Day on 16th April, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong><u>Feedback from Parents Day on 16th April, 2016<\/u><\/strong><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>We wish to express our sincere appreciation for parents of our students for having taken their time to give us their valuable and constructive comments.\u00a0 Their Thank You Cards have been duly delivered to respective teachers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parents\u2019 Gibbon Accounts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last October, we sent a letter to parents about their Gibbon accounts and wish to remind them of the procedure to access Gibbon.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The link is on our school website:\u00a0 www.ltpss.edu.hk.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Parent\u2019s user name begins with \u201cp\u201d, followed by their child\u2019s student number.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The password was sent to parents in the original letter.\u00a0 However, if you have misplaced it, please email our IT Technician on\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:kcy@elearn.ltpss.hk\">kcy@elearn.ltpss.hk<\/a>\u00a0or Ms. Shelley Tsao on\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:tyh@elearn.ltpss.hk\">tyh@elearn.ltpss.hk<\/a>\u00a0and a new password will be assigned to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parents can use Gibbon to view their child\u2019s homework record, timetable, his \/ her teachers as well as information about various Departments.<\/p>\n<p>Next year, we plan to make more information available to parents through Gibbon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow-up to 2nd Interim Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We strongly suggest parents to request their child to spend regular revision time and develop study habits at home.\u00a0 Evidence shows that students who have established a good routine for study are more likely to achieve higher grades. \u00a0This is especially true for busy teenagers who participate in numerous activities.\u00a0 Parents need to remind their child to manage their time properly, leaving sufficient time for homework and revision.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mosquito Issue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We understand that mosquitoes are a cause of concern in the campus and are taking the following measures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Pest Control<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. \u00a0Pest control service is conducted once a week by an outside company.<br \/>\n2. \u00a0Mosquito zappers have been installed around the school.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Prevention<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. \u00a0School areas are inspected regularly to ensure that stagnant water which encourages the breeding of mosquitoes is removed.<br \/>\n2. \u00a0We are also working closely with the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department to monitor and remove stagnant water in the vicinity.<br \/>\n3. \u00a0Mosquito repelling plants have been grown around the school campus.<br \/>\n4. \u00a0Mosquito repellent odor system using ozone is installed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Catering Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our school successfully applied for the &#8220;On-Site Meal Portioning Projects in Schools&#8221; implemented by the Environmental Protection Department. \u00a0The Tuck Shop will be renovated in August this year and will be equipped to provide on-site portioning of lunch.\u00a0 We have invited tenders for Tuck Shop and Lunch for the next three years. \u00a0Emphasis of the new contract will be:<\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0Meals will be cooked on-site to ensure that food provided is freshly cooked and served hot.<br \/>\n2. \u00a0Meals, snacks and beverages supplied should be healthy.<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 Programmes will be organized to further educate teachers and students on food culture, safety, nutrition, balanced diet and personal health.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Positive School Culture Campaign\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the objective of cultivating an inviting, appreciative and positive school environment in mind, we created a platform for teachers and students to express their appreciation to others.\u00a0 Starting from February this year, all teachers are invited to appreciate their students by writing cards and \/ or interview on LTV, our campus TV.\u00a0 Appreciation cards are posted on the Wall of Fame displayed at the entrance of the Hall.\u00a0 Two episodes of teachers complimenting students were shown on LTV today.\u00a0 Please click on this link to share the joy with us:\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-vVD8xLa0pU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-vVD8xLa0pU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Should parents have any queries, please contact our Assistant Principals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mr. Li Kin Man, Student Development<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Peter Woodhead, Academic<\/li>\n<li>Mr. Tong Tat Ming, Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Feedback from Parents Day on 16th April, 2016 We wish to express our sincere appreciation for parents of our students for having taken their time to give us their valuable and constructive comments.\u00a0 Their Thank You Cards have been duly delivered to respective teachers. &nbsp;
