Rationale

National Education is a core goal and an essential part of our school curriculum. It is closely connected with National Security Education, Constitution and Basic Law Education, Values Education, and Patriotic Education. Together, these elements contribute to the well-being and holistic development of our students.

Our approach is further enriched by integrating Chinese History, Chinese Culture, National Affairs, Geography, and Experiential Learning Week to form a holistic learning experience for LTPSS students. Through these diverse learning experiences, we aim to provide a well-rounded education that nurtures both knowledge and character.

Implementation Strategies

Following the guidelines of the Education Bureau (EDB), our school adopts a multi-pronged and coordinated approach to National Education. This is carried out through both the formal curriculum and the informal curriculum.

• Formal Curriculum 
  Each subject integrates National Education elements and values into classroom activities. For example, the Chinese Department organises Chinese Culture Day annually to celebrate the richness of Chinese traditions and foster national identity. Importantly, even non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students actively participate and enjoy this event, promoting inclusivity and cultural appreciation.
   
• Informal Curriculum 
  Beyond the classroom, our school provides a wide range of activities to strengthen students’ sense of national identity. These include Experiential Learning Week, sharing under the national flag, singing the national anthem, service learning, and guest sharing sessions. We also collaborate with external organizations such as the Home Affairs Department and the New Territories School Heads Association to broaden learning opportunities and support our initiatives.
   

Conclusion

Through the combined efforts of teachers, students, and community partners, our school offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary learning environment. This approach deepens students’ understanding of our country, nurtures a strong sense of national identity, and enhances their national awareness and spirit.
