Scholarships
Law Ting Pong Secondary School (LTPSS) offers scholarships to give due recognition to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding performance in other non-academic areas. There are various types of scholarships available at LTPSS.
Type 1: Admission Scholarships
| Scholarship | Eligibility Criteria | Scholarship Amount |
| 1. Admission Scholarship for Academic Excellency | 1st Tier:
· achieved a Top 5% year-level ranking in Primary 6; · attained overall A or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and · attained A or above in Conduct. |
Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 100% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS.

| 2nd Tier:
· achieved a Top 6-10% year-level ranking in Primary 6; · attained overall A or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and · attained B+ or above in Conduct. |
Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 50% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS.

| 2. Admission Scholarship for Multi-intelligence Excellency | · won remarkable awards in regional or international competitions;
· provided proof of being a key member for any group award; · provided proof of a relevant qualification assessment; · attained B or above in Chinese, English and Mathematics; and · attained B+ or above in Conduct. |
Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers 50% or 100% school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS based on the level of achievement:
· Regional Competitions (within Hong Kong): 50% school fees; or · International Competitions: 100% school fees |
| 3. Admission Scholarship for Exchange Students | A maximum of two international exchange students may be offered this scholarship each year. | Each exchange student will receive a scholarship that covers 100% school fees for non-local students. |
Type 2: Scholarships for Excellent Performance in Academic Areas

| 1. Mrs Ma Fung Wai Yung Scholarship | The best-performing two students taking HKDSE, who have been admitted to a bachelor’s degree programme at a local university, may qualify for this scholarship.

The Mrs Ma Fung Wai Yung Scholarship of HK$10,000 will be awarded to each of the two eligible students.
In the case of multiple students obtaining the same results, the total award will be shared equally. |
| 2. Scholarship for Commendable Performance in HKDSE | Students taking HKDSE, who have attained Level 5* – Level 5** in any subject, may qualify for this scholarship. | The scholarship will be awarded to students based on their performance in the HKDSE:
· Level 5**: HK$2,000 per subject · Level 5*: HK$1,000 per subject |
| 3. Scholarship for Excellent Performance in IGCSE/ GCE/ GCE AS LEVEL/ DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera)/ IELTS | Students taking HKDSE, who have achieved high level in a public examination, may qualify for this scholarship:
· Grade 9/ A* in IGCSE Chinese (NCS); · A* in GCE Chinese (NCS); · A in GCE AS Level Chinese (NCS); · Level 8 or above in IELTS; or · Grade C1 or above in DELE. Students must have applied for the public examination through the school. |
A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.

| 4. Scholarship for Entrance to Designated Non-local Universities
|
Students who are admitted to any of the designated non-local universities for a full-time bachelor’s degree programme may qualify for this scholarship.
The list of designated non-local universities is compiled and renewed every year in accordance with the Times Higher Education World University Rankings published in mid-September every year. Students have to submit supporting documents (e.g. an admission letter, public examination results, etc.) with the application form, followed in subsequent years by an academic transcript, a reflection and a sharing of their learning. |
The scholarship will be awarded to each eligible student who is admitted to the following non-local universities:
· Non-local universities ranked 1-20: HK$100,000 · Non-local universities ranked 21-40: HK$50,000 · Non-local universities ranked 41-60: HK$30,000 · Non-local universities ranked 61-100: HK$15,000 The scholarship will be disbursed into 4 installments over 4 years. |
| 5. Scholarship for Excellent Overall Academic Performance in Internal Examinations | The top five students in S1 to S3 with commendable overall academic results may qualify for this scholarship. | Each student will be awarded a scholarship that covers the school fees for the second year of studies at LTPSS:
· First in Form: 50% school fees · Second in Form: 30% school fees · Third in Form: 10% school fees · Fourth in Form: HK$1,000 of school fees · Fifth in Form: HK$500 of school fees |
| 6. Best Improvement Award in Overall Academic Performance | One student from each Year Level of S1 to S3:
· achieved the greatest improvement in their average mark between Term 1 and Term 2; and · obtained a passing average mark in Term 2. |
A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.

Type 3: Scholarships for Excellent Performance in Non-Academic Areas
| Scholarship | Eligibility Criteria | Scholarship Amount |
| 1. Scholarship for Commendable Achievements in Music/ Sports/ Performing Arts/ Visual Arts | One student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:
· attained outstanding performance in well-recognized external competitions within the last two school years (Qualification examinations such as ABRSM will not be considered); · provided evidence of these achievements, such as certificates issued by the organization, or photos of trophy that clearly shows the student’s name, title and year of the events; · nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS; · submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and · obtained Grade B or above in Conduct. |
A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students. |
| 2. Best School Service Award | One student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:
· provided evidence of services such as certificates issued by the organization, or the school report card showing credits awarded by the school; · nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS; · submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and · obtained Grade B or above in Conduct. |
A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students. |
| 3. Best Leadership Award | One student from each Year Level of S1 to S5:
· demonstrated outstanding leadership in student bodies by holding a major role (e.g. Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Captain, Vice-captain, etc.); · provided evidence such as the report card or photos of events led by the student; · nominated by a teacher currently employed at LTPSS; · submitted a 200-word personal statement about their aspirations or dreams; and · obtained Grade B or above in Conduct. |
A scholarship of HK$1,000 will be awarded to each of the eligible students.

Remarks:
- Application forms for the scholarship can be obtained from the school’s General Office or downloaded from the school website.
- Completed application forms should be submitted to the General Office.
- Applications with insufficient supporting documentation will NOT be processed.
- The granting of the scholarships is subject to the final decision of the school.
- If the student is a beneficiary of School Fee Remission Scheme, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the student at the end of the academic year in cash.
- Students being awarded must continue their studies at LTPSS in the following academic year.
