S1 Parents' Night – 2nd Oct 2009

  • 6:00p.m. – 9:30p.m. , 2nd Oct, in school hall

Target group

  • S1 parents and students

Aims and objectives of the event

  • A platform of communication between parents and teachers.

  • Communicate with parents about
    • S1 life at school since September 09
    • S1 curriculum in this academic year
    • Introduction of the school’s social worker and her services
    • Sharing about student support and mentoring policies
    • Introduction of co-curricular activities in 09-10
    • Introduction of e-communication platform between the school and the parents
    • Introduction of S1 leadership camp 09-10

  • Let the parents know about their children’s involvement in LTPSS since the beginning of the school year.

  • Allow the teachers to receive feedback from parents in order to boost understanding of S1 students’ learning attitude.
    • What do they communicate with the parents about their school lives?
    • How do they behave at home? Do they behave the same when they are at home and at school?

Number of participants

  • Around 300

Reflection / comment from teacher

  • Parents were happy about having good communication platform with teachers. This promoted parent-school cooperation for better nurturing of students.
